High Tea Fund Raiser
1-4pm, Elephant Butte Community Center, Rio Grande Circle  (off Rock Canyon Road behind the Fire Station)
The Tea, which includes entertainment and raffles, is being held to benefit Sierra County Cancer Assistance, Inc. to aid in their goal to provide Sierra County cancer patients with rides to Albuquerque and Las Cruces for chemotherapy or radiation treatments. The Thursday Night Film Series kicks off a salute to Black History Month with the film that started the blaxploitation sub-genre, "Sweet Sweetback's Baadassss Song" (1971), in which a hustler is pushed into a desperate life on the run on the streets of Los Angeles. Many downtown galleries, studios, shops and restaurants are open late on the 2nd Saturday of every month for Art Hop. Sierra County Texas Longhorn World Class Show
9am-3pm, Sierra County Fairgrounds, South Broadway, Truth or Consequences
Breeders from New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Arizona will be showing all classes of cattle, which include heifers, cow-calf, steers, and bulls, in halter and open division. Judging will be held for youth and adults divisions. There will be several vendors from the local area, with items such as jewelry, pottery, mosaics, paintings, A silent auction will benefit the youth scholarship program and will be held during the show Saturday, ending Sunday. Free admission.
